Is your kitchen table covered with stuff? Is the study room full of clutter? Instead of cleaning up the place as a distraction, just move the stuff aside and get started.

I read a joke somewhere about a writer who set up a cleaning company because he used it as an excuse not to write. The idea was to go around cleaning other people's houses to distract himself from writing. We have all done that.

The real challenge isn't creating a physical space to write, but ignoring what's going on around you so you can just get on with it.
