I am delighted to announce that my poem, "Perpetuum Mobile," was published in the Drawn to the Light journal. It came out last month. Thanks to the editor, Orla Fay, for accepting the poem. You can get the latest issue of the journal here. https://drawntothelightpress.com/issues/
Here's the poem. I made some slight changes to the poem that was actually published in the journal.
Perpetuum Mobile
for Máire Fitzgerald
A sun wheel breaks through clouds
over the headland.
Caves are punched through bare rock
as waterfalls run down
like fingers tracing the cliff.
Our boat rides
over each swell
and the water is stippled by rain.
There is a suffice of surf
whitening the waves. Salt tangs my face.
Dolphins cut the surface
with their fins,
spin, play around
and under our boat,
jump over it.
All in motion
as nothing rests.
There is a stillness
in the choppy sea
and it’s constant turning.
Diarmuid Fitzgerald
